Adopted by Gorou and Miki Hyoudou, this boy becomes a step-brother to their son, Issei, who isn't so pleased with the new addition to the family.

We find our hero now, 19 years old, going to school at Kuoh Academy, a jealous brother plotting something against him, all the while... a girl with mysterious red hair finds an interest in the boy.

Unknown to him now, but the events that culminate in a kin's betrayal, will shape him into something else... when a mysterious figure finds him dying on the ground and asks him the question,

"What would you give? Sacrifice, to retain the ability to live on this Earth?"
