Guilt and self-loathing consumed him. "Meerab...no...what have I done?" Murtasim whispered, collapsing beside her. Flashback: The previous night, Murtasim's anger and ego had blinded him. He forced himself on Meerab, ignoring her pleas. "Stop, Murtasim! Please!" Meerab begged, tears streaming down her face. But he didn't listen. Afterward, overwhelmed with guilt, Murtasim fled, leaving Meerab shattered and alone. Haya, finding Meerab traumatized, instigated her to leave Murtasim. "Leave him, Meerab. He doesn't deserve you," Haya urged. Meerab, too distraught to comprehend, walked to the bathroom. The shattered mirror seemed to mock her.
