From Aleksandr, With Love

Kaushalya Vedantha has only one goal in her life: take her mother and escape to the place where her father cannot reach them. However, he will not let go of her that easily, he has grand plans to marry her off to a French merchant to benefit his own business. He forces her to accept by holding her mother at knife point.

Her acceptance doesn't mean a thing, she is biding time to hatch the perfect plan and escape, when a new hurdle in the form of Aleksandr Tsalin arrives. He is supposed to be her future brother-in-law, and has been assigned the task of keeping her from running away. More complications arise when the feelings Kaushalya was supposed to feel for her future husband are emerging for the wrong person. Her brother-in-law, to be precise.
