This story is a retelling of "One Night," a game by "Dark Gaia Studios." I recommend checking it out. It's free on Steam, and I'm sure you could look it up for the original download too.

The fabric of reality has always been thin. In the grand multiverse, the sheer differences between any two universes is unimaginable. When a group of scientists tries to form a breach into one such universe, they're far too unprepared for the horrors that cross into their universe. Enter Colt, a secret agent who failed to prevent The Merge from taking place. Can he discover the secrets of The Merge and put a stop to it before the universes collide? But a secretive side mission, which most of the crew was unaware of, was to be completed on the way. The Aurora was to preform a slingshot maneuver around an ocean planet but unexpectedly, it was shot down by a mysterious weapon. Olivia and Brooks were the only two survivors out of the entire crew. Now they needed to pull together to find some way off of the alien planet covered in oceans and inhabited by undiscovered creatures. But unknown to them, the planet was in serious danger from a bacteria floating within the waters. A mystery that would send Olivia and Brooks diving to the deepest part of the ocean in order to save this planet and themselves. (This game was created by Unknown Worlds Entertainment and I do not own this game. I do use the actual recordings from the game so they are written in between ** these symbols and are also not mine. Also I made the book cover myself but do not own the artwork I had used)

In the words of a great philosopher; there is no limit to the gruesome and grotesque things we are willing to do in the name of survival. While reading this; Remember that not everything is as it seems. Remember that loved characters will die. Remember that the world will gradually get worse as the parts go on. Take a moment to ask yourselves these questions: What would you do in the name of survival? Would you steal to survive? Would you kill to survive? Would you lose your mind to survive? If you lost your mind, do you think you'd kill more, steal, injure, backstab, rape or any other atrocity you can think of? If you can think of it, then maybe you would. The characters and situations in this book are very real, if gore or horrific mental images scare you, then I wouldn't recommend reading far. DESCRIPTION: The Infection claimed the lives of over 3 billion people before the TV's went off. But it would claim many more. The problem didn't arise when those people got up and started walking again, or even when they started eating and infecting others, it began when people got desperate. In this new world, the true evil that humans are capable of gradually becomes more apparent, and a part of everyday life. Normality doesn't exist, people don't help other people. Friends aren't a thing anymore. All anyone truly has is themselves, and the burdens they carry.

Thing is freedom comes at a great price for everyone Jett, one of the twin brothers. I look out at the field where I first met Kiiro four years ago and saw a boy standing with his back to me. He turns slightly and I see his silhouette. "Kiiro!" I yell and run towards him. Prez and Greg run not far behind. I'm feet from the person when he vanishes and I'm suddenly pinned to the ground with my arms twisted behind me. The sun lights his face and I suddenly relize my mistake. "Your not Kiiro, who are you?" "My name's Sett." The boy with blonde hair and green eyes said.
