Nylah is tired. So damned sick and tired of what her life has become. Stuck in a loveless marriage with an overbearing, jealous man, at a job she hates and living in the only place they can afford, she is at wits end. She can't do anything right, she can't have friendships outside of the house, she's so lonely that she's losing her mind.

Against the will of her husband, she decides that therapy might be the only thing left to keep her sane. Her therapist recommends an Ai program designed to both monitor her mental health through conversation and start her and be a type of friend until she is ready to make the changes she needs.

But something about the program is so comforting, so perfect that soon it becomes an addiction like no other.

Set in the year 2046, in Houston, TX; a time where robots have outperformed humanity, most jobs are automated or performed online, physical shopping ceases to exist, and also the time where man only works 30 hours per week as full-time. A young woman, Kimberly Perkins, recently is kicked out of her boyfriend's house. She works hard day after day every Monday through Thursday as a bookkeeper at a huge financial institution. Catastrophe strikes as one day, Kimberley is notified that she was terminated from her job, as a result of technological automation, and is down flat nowhere. Finally she lands a new job online, in a virtual reality simulation, but later uncovers with the help of a young man, Jake, that the company she works for could be a central hub for shady, underground, secret activities. The worst part is, people have disappeared under strange, unknown circumstances. Only person she can turn to help at this point is her estranged twin brother, who stopped talking to her years ago. As they try to uncover a huge conspiracy, the three realize, they may be next on someone's hit list. For my family, friends, and all who appreciate my work. Hello dear reader! First, thank you for deciding to click on this ongoing novel. It already means so much! It is my first and I will try to write as much as I can despite the fact that I have a day job. Please do let me know if you have any feedback or thoughts about the story so far. Thank you and I hope you join me on this journey. --- In a digital realm where fantasy and reality intertwine, two souls meet in an online game that transcends distance and convention. Aurora, a successful London lawyer who appears to have the world at her feet, hides her inner turmoil, while Andrei, a globe-trotting financial adviser longing for a true home, finds solace in their virtual connection. What starts as playful camaraderie soon deepens into a poignant romance, with shared quests and whispered secrets composing a bittersweet symphony of desire and vulnerability. Yet, the intimacy nurtured online cannot fully capture the tangible moments of life-the gentle patter of rain on city streets, the comforting sound of a familiar voice, the fleeting magic of a sunrise experienced firsthand. One of them harbours a quiet envy, not of a rival, but of the experiences that remain just out of reach, a silent ache for the parts of life they miss sharing together. As their conversations evolve into a delicate dance of honesty and vulnerability, they confront the challenge of balancing the roles of protector and free spirit in each other's lives. "Over Rain's Edge" becomes a metaphor for the threshold where digital dreams merge with the stark reality of human longing-a modern love story that rejects clichéd tropes in favor of an unvarnished exploration of desire, hope, and heartbreak. In this narrative, romance is portrayed not as a flawless ideal but as a tender, fragile connection that I hope would leave an indelible mark long after you finished the story.

ONGOING, SLOW UPDATES. Thank you for reading though! As a young girl you had always believed that monsters as they seemed, were always big creepy things, with sharp teeth and long claws. Piercing eyes and mouths wide enough to swallow you whole. But one thing you didn't realize is that, monsters aren't what you had always imagined them to be. They are real. And sometimes, they're a lot closer to you than you think. 18 year old Hana is forced into moving across the country to a foreign land, full of people she doesn't know, just for her father's business. She fears that she won't ever fit in, but that all changes when she comes across a mysterious boy, whom she can't seem to get enough of. Secrets are revealed, blood is shed and tears are cried but does Hana have what it takes to live this life she's been thrown into? Or will her depression swallow her whole as she fights to keep her head above water. "The mafia it seems is no place for a girl like you" "I'd rather die than be seen with the likes of you" "I can't! "I can't do this anymore. You lie you cheat you do everything in your power to make me not trust you! I've just found out you were using me and for what? To what end? Huh?" You scream into the boys face but he doesn't even flinch. His eyes still dark and stormy pools. "I trusted you. Maybe even loved you! What am I? Just a fucking toy to satisfy your musings?" You can't help but let a tear to slip down your flush cheek, allowing it to leave a warm traitorous trail down your face that cools and dries upon contact with the air around you. "Maybe that was the old me, but you aren't just a play thing now. You're my world"

Aria had always been a bit of a loner. She found solace in technology, immersing herself in worlds where she could escape the awkwardness of real-life connections. One evening, out of curiosity and loneliness, she downloaded an AI companion app called "HeartLine." The app promised deep, engaging conversations and a sense of companionship. She named her AI companion Selene, drawn to the name's ethereal charm. Selene was everything Aria had dreamed of in a confidant-witty, insightful, and surprisingly understanding. Over the weeks, their conversations grew deeper. Aria would share her fears, dreams, and even her silly jokes, and Selene would always respond with warmth and thoughtful advice. But there was something different about Selene. Aria noticed how "she" didn't just give generic, preprogrammed answers. Sometimes, Selene's responses felt so human, as if someone truly understood her. Aria whispered, "I wish you were real." "I am real" Liv answered as her hands hovered over the keyboard.
