In an era where worshipping men was all a woman was taught of, Bondita was way ahead of her time. Brought up under her deadbeat , abusive father and narcissistic brother, she grows to loathe men. In her quest of gaining respect and equality, she clashes with Anirudh Roy Choudhary,  a London-returned barrister of a liberal mind but conflicted conscience who is snobbish about the uneducated and uncivilized society.
