The I-70 killer disappeared without a trace after committing several murders in the mid-1990s. Similar murders occurred throughout the 20th century, where the killer popped up, went on a killing spree, and then disappeared. Why? Where did he go? Camille Hart, a private detective, traced the murderer back to the 19th century with the infamous Dublin party that met disaster on the Oregon Trail. Was this the same killer, and how did he travel through time? The pen. The same pen that was found by her twin sister's body was also found by the most recent murder victim in 2023. Can Camille race against time before the killer strikes again or before he catches on to her motive? And what of the Dublin party? What really happened to those families?

Written for the Mystery Party hosted by @earnestycommunity Mystery writer Sebastian Chase had always felt that there was something wrong with him. It wasn't because he'd lost most of his memories in an accident. It wasn't because he wasn't even sure if Sebastian Chase was really his name, either. It was more because of that nagging feeling at the pit of his stomach that told him he didn't belong. Not in this place and time. When a mysterious man leaves an old pocket watch in his possession, Sebastian gets sucked into the intrigues of a bygone era and is forced to face the demons of his past. A past that takes him back to 1920's Beachcastle where he must track down the saboteur who took everything away from him and sent him almost a hundred years into the future. * Third Place Winner * Wordsmith Award Winner
