Mental Cubes: The very material that Ship-girls began to appear after alien-like creatures called Sirens had appeared on Earth, had began to alter naval ships into their own human form to walk upon the planet as a last-ditch attempt to drive away the alien invaders. And that would soon be evident regarding the appearances of Ship-Boys, the opposites of Ship-Girls due to that error.
