The Phage has become a very real threat. As civilizations across the galaxy are assaulted by its ravenous presence, it's readily apparent that the Empire needs a breakthrough, something to stop this plague once and for all.

Spurred on by the humanitarian crisis of an attack on one of the biggest stations in Empire space, the crew of the Ghost are directed to find the coveted "kill switch" to stop the ancient replicator bots permanently. What they find, however, is a far more terrifying and existentially threatening truth than any of them could have expected.

This story is a fanfic of the Spectra series by Matt Lauth. You can check out the original series at https://twitter.com/spectraseries. This story doesn't intersect much with the main series plot, but might include some slight lore spoilers, and might be confusing if you haven't read the first two books. Also make sure to read the first book in my series, Echoes, otherwise you'll be quite confused.

Most characters are either made by me or present in Lauth's series. For a list of other characters, check the Acknowledgements in Echoes - there'll be an Acknowledgements at the end of this book eventually as well, but for now pretty much all of the non-OCs are reused from Echoes :)

UPDATE: I'm currently rewriting this story to take place in my own custom setting (Wayward), starting from book 1. Check out my Wattpad profile for further details.

"Those aliens are not my concern, the Earth and her populations are. Now, Callisto of the Scout Regiment to Salutem, as a citizen of this planet and a soldier under my command-" "I stopped being a soldier a long time ago. And those aliens have done nothing to you, you didn't even know they existed until I told you about them. I joined this mission not because I was ordered to, but because I wanted to carve my name in history. But I will not mark my namesake as a murderer of the very first species we have found that is on par with human intelligence! If my legacy is to be the protector of those you refuse to acknowledge, then so be it." The room hissed and flowed with whispers and gossip between the different board members, like a waterfall being heard through thick earmuffs. The only voice to be clearly heard was Director Striker himself. "You are rooting for a lost cause, soldier. It is the manifest destiny of us humans to reach out and touch the stars. And if the only way to touch those stars is to sacrifice a few savages, then that is what we must do." Callisto felt her anger towards a man she once admired swell in her chest and wash through her veins with a burning fire. He was proposing mass genocide simply because he wanted what belonged to them. The wheel of history turns, but nothing is ever new it seemed. "Have you read a history book in your life, Director Striker? Manifest destiny is used a mere few pages before a genocide. It's not a motivation, it's an excuse." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fair warning: this is my very first original story so please be kind to my baby, she is a lifelong passion and a labor of love. •••COMPLETED••• •Please do not copy or post anywhere outside of these pages.
Broken Symmetry (NTB Book 2) (A Socksfor1 AU) by TheAddieDragon
29 parts Complete Mature
This is book 2 in the No Turning Back trilogy. If you haven't read book 1, read that before reading this. -- Vizor's gone. Everyone spared from his wrath is safe, and finally there's peace. It's been three months since the evil demon's death, and everything's going great. Or so everyone thinks... Dusk is unsure whether his father is gone entirely. He of all people would know his true power. And his suspicions are confirmed when another murder pops up. With a chance to save his possessed friend, Akik finds a way to bring the gang to his home planet - Xero. There, he knew someone that could help. But tensions are high. The Demon-Angel war has still raged on in Akik's absence, and his Xeronian friends are worried. It's been over a year since the return date of Akik's mission, so most everyone believes he's dead. So... what now? ----------- This story contains themes relating to blood/gore, demons, war, trauma, death, and (slight) insanity. If these themes bother you, I suggest you be careful reading this story. There are Blazafor1 ships in this story (though I refer to it as Blakik because.... Well, you get it if you read book 1). Not too crazy in the beginning, and it also has nothing to do with the Mature rating on this story. Though if you are uncomfortable with ships such as this, I once again suggest you be careful reading this story. ❖2021 Watty Awards Shortlist❖ Kevin was just a normal 10 year old kid until he saw a woman vanish right before his eyes. This made Kevin just a little bit different. He paid more attention to people now. Little did he know that this little difference would kill him the next time he encountered another alien about to return home. It would tear him apart, cell by cell, until he was unmade. His mind being transported away. --- So distantly far away there is a race that advanced to the point where they built dyson spheres to house their civilizations. In their continual expansion, they seeded galaxies with pods and connection satellites. Over time they upgraded their dyson spheres into matryoshka brain Cores. Imagine a computer powered by a star. Citizens of Cores no longer age once they upload their minds into the virtual living system of the Core. While they didn't age, most still choose to cycle through life and death though at a different scale of time compared to our lives. Citizens can visit other planets and live there as if they were on a "vacation". Mercury is Earth's hub connected to the closest Core and Earth is a remote vacation spot for wealthy citizens. When the main character was 10 he witnessed a citizen returning to the Core. The story continues 10 odd years later when he again witnesses a similar situation unfolding and manages to touch the person returning to the Core. This causes him to be swept up in the transfer as well and for his mind to join as a "Guest" user of the Core. As a Guest he has limited powers, a starting balance of zero cr or Citizen credits, and no idea how he can get home. He is the first human to ever become a Guest of a Core. Where money itself is the highest form of their science.

Hello there, Wattpad community My name is LaResistance and this is my very first story. Since this is the first story I am making, don't expect it to be off high quality but I will try my best. This story is going to comprise of some events that took place in the anime of Azur Lane, and I am also going to make the main character well you could say a soldier from Garry's Mod since I want him to from the time of the fan-made film back in the 2000's call "War Of The Servers". You should check it out it is pretty good for a movie made when Garry's Mod was still in it's early stages. Here is the link to it, you better watch it or you are going in this story blind : https://youtu.be/ppUl_CBuyz8. God bless the people who made that movie man god bless them. Enough talking, onto the story. The year is 2021, the Mingbags are back and Garry's Mod is once again at war. This time new updates were added which made the conflict between both the Players and the Mingbags very bloody. We follow a player who was ranked up to Sargent class. Instead of admins taking over the jobs as soldier, they are still able to but other players are able to enlist into the Digital Garry's Mod Militia or the Garry's Mod military. This player is named SirStonksMan and he is a Polish player. He was about to be sent out onto a offensive against the Mingbags but discovered a lab. What he and his comrades didn't know was their was a portal there and they accidently activated it send Sgt. Stonks into another universe. How will he proceed and what is he to do?

18+ (Xenophile) Smut. Violence. Gore. Foul Language. The year is 3787, the Earth is in ruin, and the infectious spores plagues the world below. After many failed attempts to remove the spore infection and the intelligent lifeforms that brought it known as the Irinaut, several large ships were sent into space to save the human race, but some people remained. Those who stayed, either had no choice in the matter or were part of the expedition crews. The people who were looking for some sort of cure all. Some, scientists looking to communicate or even experiment on the Irinaut race. Though it wasn't only the infection they had to worry about. Infected Irinaut were aggressive, and finding one without the sickness at this point was seeming out of reach with no hopes of communicating. That is, until now. A group of soldiers had been left with a task of transporting precious cargo. After several facilities being attacked by the estranged Irinaut, a young soldier known as Raven, finds herself curious to why this Irinaut is so important in finding. The being wasn't like other's any of them had seen. They wanted to know how it was possible in the world that was nothing but desert, and infection. 0-Sa was also alone, which was unusual for the species. The Irinaut became valuable quite quickly, having found no spore infection visibly on him. The team had one job, obtain and return the creature alive, but they would soon come to find out that the cargo would be more difficult to transport than they thought. Humans are quite possibly the lowest level of life from what I can tell. They just come and go as they please, destroy what they please, and contain unknown beings like me for "the safety of humanity." Yeah, right. And they're also pretty stupid, judging from how easy it was to break free from those foundation fools holding me captive. And now I'm stuck controlling a human body (that does NOT like to cooperate, mind you) while I complete my final plans for the human race. And if you're wondering... yes, I'm going to murder them all. Starting with this little "Skeld Crew" that I've heard about. Not much, but a start. A start that will strike the fear essence of my true power into the hearts of every human in existence. - Unknown ---------- 541 & Dr Vyllin are the only characters in this I own. All the others belong to their respected owners. !DISCLAIMER! This story is a horror type story.
