Mathew, the narrator, has a crush on Conner Grey, the hottest guy in school. Mathew often daydreams about being with Conner and imagines cuddling with him and wearing his hoodies. The story unfolds as Mathew and Conner find themselves sitting next to each other in their school's form class. Despite being nervous, they exchange greetings and begin to interact. During this time, there's a subtle attraction developing between them.
Later in the day, Mathew witnesses Conner in an unexpected situation, which leaves him in a conflicted state of mind. As the day progresses, they continue to interact, eventually making plans to go into town together.
Ally has always been one of the boys. That is, until she realizes that she has feelings for her best friend, Zac, who happens to be the hottest guy in school. He’s chased by many girls and doesn’t date anyone for more than a month tops, most definitely not Ally. He only sees her as his best friend, his little sister at most. If Ally even wants a chance with Zac she’s going to have to change and become one of the girls, which is exactly what she plans to do this summer.
