After Jaune is supposedly killed by Cinder Fall during the Battle of Haven, he is transported to a world similar to Remnant, but very noticeably different. In order to return home to rejoin the war, Jaune makes a deal with the US government: join the crew of US Outpost 31 in Antarctica, and in return, the government will try and create a portal back to Remnant.
