An unnamed young soldier has grown cold and unfeeling after being entrenched in war for over two years. Now at last they are at the end of their tour, ready to move on. Their experience on the battlefield as led them to develop a deep hatred for war and the ones who promote it, trying to fight against the mechanisms in which they unwittingly signed up for. Full of resentment, they struggle to find much of anything to look forward to except the promise of a return back to friends and family. A fatal mistake that explores the dangers of hope, love, and human connection as this unnamed soldier continuously tries and fails to find their place. Constantly deteriorating as the shroud of alienation grows heavier and heavier around them, at last reaching a breaking point in the form of a failed suicide attempt. A persistent push and pull always seems to occur. This soldier cannot find the means to accept who they are in the face of an indifferent and callous world. A Centimeter Across the Earth is a story about war, the war that rages on inside us all. For there are some wounds that reach far too deep.Complete
