The monthly hunts and races were supposed to be a fun event, with the aim of getting a friend for life. It was never meant to turn into a mission.

The rules were supposed to be clear, and easy to follow. Hunters and Runners had slightly altered rules from each other, to keep the game interesting. Lives weren't meant to be at stake.

But something funny is going on in Tommy's life, and the facts that he knew for certain are crumbling away into questions. What is actually going on with hunts and races, and why is Dream so desperate to prove something?

After an attempt on his life, Tommy knows he can't just let Dream win. He understands that Dream's manipulative, cruel, and willing to do whatever to get what he wants. But if he were trying to use those powers against Tommy himself, that would have been one thing. It's completely different when he's trying to break Purpled instead.
