After Peeta dropped the bombshell about being in love with Katniss I KNEW this would be it. Sure I've sold the star crossed lover bit. But never before with a pair like this.
I had to aim leading questions after everyone found out. I had to make the people fall deeply in love with them. My favorite power couple. Hope wasn't an easy thing to have these days but like hell I will fight for everyone to have it. These are what's left of my memories. This will be my last interview. I am Caesar Flickerman, and this is my story.

When I was eleven. My whole world changed. Katniss' dad died in a mining accident. You think it wouldn't affect me but I loved him just as much as Katniss did. Maybe even more than I loved my own father. I felt bad, that my own dad couldn't compare to Katniss'. He loved me too though. Loved me like his own. The day he died was the first in a long line of times I have ever seen Katniss cry. She never cried before then but she cried a lot after. Katniss' mother was suppose to get a job after his passing, she didn't. They were starving, dying. I decided to help. After school I would drag Katniss into the woods by her feet. We'd never gone in there without her father. It seemed like a scarier place without him. After some time it wasn't so scary. I don't know what made me volunteer for Katniss. When I heard her name echo throughout the crowd my heart stopped. It wasn't my name, but it was my best friends. There was no way she could survive in there. She had a family, a sister to take care of. I thought my parents could live without me. The name Effie called next was the only name I prayed and prayed I would never hear her say. Peeta Mellark.
