In 1942 Kansas, Nora Adkins' quiet life as a housewife was shattered when her beloved husband Felix enlisted for the war in Norway. Months went by as Nora longed for his safe return, her heart heavy with the loneliness of separation. But hope bloomed when she discovered she was pregnant, a tiny light in the darkness of war. However, fate dealt her another crushing blow when news arrived that Felix had been critically injured. With tears in her eyes and her hand resting on her growing belly, Nora clung to the hope of love and prayed that Felix would find solace in her letters, even from thousands of miles away. But when the final letter came, bearing the news of Felix's tragic end, Nora was left a widow and a soon-to-be single mother. Yet even in the depth of her grief, the memory of their love remained, a shining beacon of light in the darkest of days.
