It was a split second of a head-on collision that two lives and two stories were changed into moments with tragic consequences. Leah Montgomery and Will Chandler had never been in association with each other, never once had their daily schedules overlap to the point of having awkward run-ins at the local supermarket in the exponentially large town of Charlotte, North Carolina. It had never been an issue for the two of them to know each other, making the adults the epitomized definition of total strangers. That had always been what their destiny was predicted to be, especially since Leah was due to walk down an aisle in less than a month with her fiancee, Noah, waiting at the end of it, and Will was planning on moving away with his long-time high school sweetheart, Amelia. Nothing was supposed to change the lives that they already planned out for themselves. Nonetheless, their destiny and their fate were two very different things. On the night of Valentine's Day, problems arise all over the town of Charlotte, and the torrential weather ends up providing two totaled cars and a sum of forty-eight broken bones. The external and internal injuries hadn't been the biggest issues, though, because the two strangers that had never seen each other a day in their lives were forced at that very moment to figure out how in the hell they are going to return to the people they love when they find themselves stuck in a purgatory with only the comfort of each other. The only problem with that had been the fact that, what started out as random strangers, turned into a rivaling obsession of who was more heartbroken between an unlikely pair of adults, reminding them of what it felt like to be back in high school. In that time, however, they find that their fate was always meant to out-rule what they believed their destiny held for them, and that they could very well be the next people to lie in a deathbed if their decision is not what they originally thought they wanted.

We Broke

But there was something about Charlotte. She wasn't like the most prettiest girl in the world, but anyone with heart could tell that she had a beautiful heart. A heart that could easily be broken. A heart that needed to be protected. -- Her parents dead. Everything she ever cared for, gone. She lives on the streets, shelter filled with people who want revenge. She's dangerous. Dangerous to even look at. She finds herself registering at a high-school. Broke, orphaned and lost. She's in trouble and she can't hide forever. High school seems like the most perfect place to hide. When the last shard of her past supposedly dies, there's no one to turn to. When she finds herself in captivity from someone she pissed off, she is saved by her tutor, Peter. Coincidentally, he has a similar past to hers. Together, they detangle themselves from the mess they are entangled in. Twists and turns strangle their necks, making it harder and harder to breathe. Life falls, and death rises. Holding onto that last shred of hope can be dangerous. When one of them is lost forever, the other mourns loudly but is unheard. But nothing will ever be enough.
