As The Black Death strikes England, both higher and lower class are thrown into panic as the plague hits their towns. Both Elvina Cougelet and Ansellus Randoul have lost all of their relatives and most of their town.
The two of them will meet in the most unlikely way, and both will be forced to betray, befriend and be brave.
