The house next door goes up for sale, the dreaded day arrives in which its been sold and now the only thing left is to find out whose moving in. "Good news hunny the new neighbours are moving in today and I've invited them around for dinner" my mum said excitedly. "And I'm supposed to be excited because...." if my tone doesn't give it away, I'm not excited for new neighbours, my best friend lived in that house but after a tragic accident that took her life her parents decided to up and sell. "I appreciate that its hard but the Hunts are a lovely family and they have children one is slightly older than you and the other is a few months younger, and I suggest you play nice" my mum warned. "Are you joking me mum! no matter who moves in next door nothing will change, Lily is dead and no matter how friendly you are to the Hunts they will never replace Lily!" I shouted getting more and more angry as I vented. A thumb swiftly wiped the tear from my cheek that I hadn't even realised had fell, it was my dad. "Oh baby girl don't cry, it will all be okay, we don't want you to replace Lily but we do want you to be civil at least because what happened was not your fault or the Hunts okay" my dad cooed as he soothed me and sent me upstairs to get ready for the welcoming dinner.

When the empty house next door was sold for the umpteenth time, my new tattooed and dreamy neighbor and I made an instant connection. I had every intention of keeping it strictly friendly, but he was just as determined to be something more and show me that there are still good men in the world. He saw me for what I was and uncovered a lot of hurt that I would have gladly kept hidden and tore down every wall I had built to protect myself. But he has issues, too, and I don't know if I'm ready to brave the demons of my past; to show them to someone else and trust him to help me build anew the parts of me that I've shredded in my detrimental efforts to keep myself together. And I don't know if I have the strength to weather his storm while still trying to hold my ground in the one that still rages within me.
