We all know the incredibly tragic and heartwrenching story of the Royal Romanov Family. However, we got the beautiful and heartwarming animated Anastasia movie, so that version of Anastasia finally got her happily ever after. Of course, we all know how the movie begins but what we don't know is how Dimitri came to work in the palace, how the childhood of each of the Romanov children was in this version of events, what happens to Imperial Russia after it is discovered that Anastasia is alive, or what even is the future for Anastasia and Dimitri, and that is where our story will begin

The Grand Ducal Coup has succeeded. In order to avoid revolution, Grand Duke Michael Alexandrovich, the Tsar's brother, takes the reigns of the Government in Petrograd and declares himself regent with the support of all senior Grand Dukes. With a heavy heart, he sends his brother, wife and daughters into exile to the Isle of Man and becomes his nephew's tutor until he comes of age. Russia becomes a Constitutional Monarchy and revolution is avoided. Meanwhile, the Tsar's uncle, Grand Duke Paul who settled in Russia in 1914, after spending several years living in exile in Paris because of his scandalous marriage to a divorced woman, is adjusting to his old life. His children, Vladimir, an accomplished poet, Irina, and Natalia will have to settle into a new world, far from everything they have always known. In the last times of the old regime, Vladimir falls in love with Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna, but the coup, Rasputin's murder and their divided loyalties drift them apart. His sister Irina also finds love with Feodor, but he still sees her as a little girl. Natalia, the most extrovert and fiery of the siblings, makes an impression wherever she goes, leaving a trail of broken hearts in her wake. Together, they will have to navigate through life, love, friendship and heartbreak in a strange country with a new position, new people and new conventions.

Russian citizens have had enough of President Vladimir Putin's terrifyingly chaotic time in office as he stations Russian troops on the Ukrainian border ready to invade. As the world receives word that Putin has ordered the invasion of Ukraine, they watch in awe as the Russian people and military removed him from office and dismantled the government. Within a week, Russia had voted become a monarchy, but the citizens also had a say. The one problem was that no one knew where the royal families had fled during the last revolution. With a name that means, "A born empress, Light; Crown," it was evident that Czarina Alena Stepanov's mother had high expectations for her daughter. Rina didn't know how high or even to what extent, not knowing anything about her family history on her mother's side. Not knowing much about her heritage, Rina watched her grandfather's home country turn upside down at the same time she and her boyfriend started looking to buy their first home.
