In 1861, a young man from Virginia named James eagerly enlisted in the Confederate army, fired up with ideals of Southern honor and states' rights. We follow James as he leaves behind his family's farm and loving fiancee to join the war effort. James experiences a swift loss of innocence as he enters his first battles under General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson. The visceral horrors of combat reveal war's true colors. Still, camaraderie with his fellow soldiers motivates James to stand strong. As the war rages on, James questions the morality of the Southern cause. But devotion to his comrades-in-arms keeps him bound to duty. He rises through the ranks, gaining new responsibilities and facing challenging decisions. James forges close friendships with the men under his command. He comes to depend on them like brothers, creating bonds that transcend war's chaos. But death haunts the battlefield, putting James' leadership skills to the ultimate test. By the war's final years, hunger, disease and endless slaughter grind down all sides. James grapples with the damage done to the country and his own principles. Though exhausted and disillusioned, he remains steadfast to protect his loyal men.Todos los derechos reservados
