Love was such a funny feeling, it did crazy things. It encompasses almost every feeling you could think of and somehow shoves it into one. Joy, Anger, Sadness, Jealousy, Euphoria, you name it. They'll crack under the pressure and slowly slip into insanity. Pico was trying to be an exception, yet fighting something so naturally intoxicating was hard when you yearn for it.
