Meanwhile 15-year-old Wendy Riley is plotting her grand escape from Averagehood, a bedroom she shares with her five-year-old brother and a daily detention schedule for being a little too generous with her answers to a fateful History 10 quiz.
In a story that is one part coming of age on the stage, one part romance warmed over a Dungeons & Dragons campaign, and two parts homage to Eighties fashion, music and movies, Wendy begins to see her family, friends and foils for who they really are.
