In the universe of Warhammer 40k in the grim darkness, a lone Eldar warrior is faced with an ultimate test of her survival skills. After her and the rest of the army she was with failed in their attack against the awakening of their ancient robotic foes, they retreated to a fortififed location in the ruined human city, waiting and gathering their strength whilst having helped the local humans in their current war agains the brutal, savage and greenskinned Orks. Being ignored by her superior of a looming threat by the hostile Necron army approaching that they encountered and now larger than prior army, big enough to slay her whole unit comes closer with every second passing. The Howling Banshee Taerana decides to leave her kin to avoid the same fate after they failed to heed her warning of the large threat and numbers the enemy posseses because of her lack of proper combat experience.
