Summoned to Snezhnaya to assist, Zhongli meets a darker and more tormented Childe than the one who left Liyue only weeks prior, and thus begins his journey to help return Childe to his prior self. However, when a rather cheerful, but very much dead Childe shows up in Zhongli's living room, plans have to be placed aside. When the pair turn to Hu Tao for advice, she suggests that in order for Childe to pass onto the next realm, he must first let go of all unfinished business tying him to the mortal realm. Of course, this is easier said than done when a stubborn Harbinger insists he is perfectly at peace with the life he has led.
