Stacey and Robert experience the trauma of losing their newborn baby. Sadly, their grief tears the family apart; even after they go on to have two subsequent children. Whilst Stacey fights for survival, Robert drowns his sorrows in alcohol and his whole persona changes. Robert becomes increasingly controlling and Stacey fails to keep their family together.

The book follows the break up of Stacey and Robert and showcases how the breakdown in the family turns from sorrow into something Stacey did not prepare for. Dealing with Robert's unreasonable behaviour and demands, Stacey eventually finds the courage to stand up to Robert and acknowledge his wrongdoings. In fact Stacey becomes fearless and makes a decision that will forever change all of their lives.

Counting On A Fresh Start

5 parts Ongoing

After a messy break up, Leah Chestnutt leaves all she knows for a new town, a new job, a new life. Turning up late on her first day at her new job is not the fresh start Leah hopes for. Luckily, her co-workers are understanding, and as introductions progress, she begins to relax. That is until she meets Darren Foster. He consumes Leah's mind and has her heart racing like she never expected. As she's settling into her new life, Leah is devastated by family tragedy. She rushes home to be with her parents, to share their grief and support them during the initial wave of sorrow. Knowing she can't stay with them, Leah returns to Burcam, emotionally bruised, and ready to give up. But Darren steps in, asking her to move in temporarily. Their feelings for each other grow and can't be ignored any longer. He helps her see that life can be worth living again, slowly putting her back together, piece by piece. When her past catches up to her and she learns new truths, will her chance of happiness and her fresh start be threatened?
