Deep in the heart of the human territory, in the small town of Holst, there lives an Elf. He's fair-skinned, with long hair that falls far past his shoulders. His name is Rose, and he's the town healer. Using his extensive knowledge of herbs that the Elves taught him, Rose quickly earned the trust of the townsfolk, showing them he could ease their pain and heal their traumas. Rose enjoys his little house and his little shop; there isn't anything else he could ask for. However, a new patient will soon change the course of his life. A wounded Dragonkin, broken and bleeding, laid upon his examination table will introduce adventure, danger, and love into the frail Elf's life. Soon enough, the town is upset with them, and the uproar the villagers are causing arouses suspicion with a group of individuals searching for Rose and ready to take him out for their master. Rose is, therefore, forced to leave the small town of Holst that he's grown to love and view as a sanctuary.

Leaving a troubled past behind, Dylan starts his first day at a new high school. He's soon wrapped up in his new life, meeting new friends and especially someone to take his mind off the things that happened. However, the past has a way of catching up, and how does he think he can get someone else out of their misery if he can't even help himself? Dylan knows he should know better than to fall for someone new, but Zach isn't just anyone. He's the guy with a face of stone and eyes as cold as a winter's night - a guy without a heart - or so it would seem... They won't like each other at all, they will hate - hate each other senseless. But perhaps that senselessness is what will get them out of their troubles once and for all.
