Ashleigh Terra Nicole was a beautiful teenage girl. She had many friends at school and volunteered at the local animal shelter. But what most people don't know, is that Ashleigh's home life is way less than amazing. Her mom was a drunk who beat Ashleigh for the smallest things. When Ashleigh enters her teen years, she finds sanctity and peace in the forest behind her house.

One day, as Ashleigh was out strolling the woods, she sees a handsome boy walking in front of her. After two days of seeing the mysterious boy walking around, she gets up the nerve to talk to the mysterious boy, who's name is Shane. Soon after they meet, she falls in love. But sadly, her mom finds out through the grapevine and beats her in a drunken rage. Coma clad and in bad shape, her mother is finally arrested. Shane visits her in the hospital, and as she clings to life, Shane hopes she will pull through and hang onto the love they share.
