After waiting all summer, seventeen-year-old Ethan Redwood finally begins his second year of high school. He's got it all planned out; he's going to be as average as he possibly can, avoiding drama and trouble so that he may finally have a normal school life. All of that fell apart on his first day, but Ethan has nothing to dread; his plights and problems aren't his alone. For this school year, he will realize one truth; happiness comes in five parts.
Following rejection from Madison's father, Ethan's drive is renewed with a little help from June. The year's first major (graded) event arrives in the form of a short film contest. Volunteering as an actor alongside June, Ethan has his priorities embedded in this competition. Though if there's one thing he's learned thus far, anything can happen, and he's got to be prepared.
Ethan Giovinazzo, a uni student with messy brunette hair and a seriously clumsy vibe, just kinda fumbles his way through life. But behind all the chaos, there's one thing most people don't know, he's actually pretty decent at drawing. Whether it's quick sketches or detailed illustrations, drawing's his thing, and he's got it down to a T. Someday, he starts crushing on this girl around campus. But every time he tries to talk to her, he just fluffs it. His mates tired of watching him fail in the love department, finally snap.
"A dating app, mate." Shawn grinned like he'd just cracked the code to Ethan's love life. "You're good with your words, right? Why not try it online? No awkwardness, no face-to-face disasters. Just text her and see what happens."
"What? A dating app? Nah, tha- that's not my thing." Ethan shook his head, looking completely thrown off. "I'm not some.. swipe-right kind of guy."
So, is this Ethan's shot at love, or is he just gonna keep fluffing it?
