“What, honey?” I asked, putting down my spatula and turning to look at my little boy.
“Something’s wrong with Dave!”
I stood up quickly and ran out of the kitchen towards the living room. Kaleb was hot on my heels as we raced through the house.
“Dave?” I called out in worry. “Dave!”
There was no response. I raced into the room and saw Dave lying passed out on the couch. His breathing was low and shallow. I shook him but he didn’t respond. Trembling, I pulled out my phone.
