The young, troubled Prince Faolan has never felt like he belongs with his royal family. Despite having fame, wealth, and privilege on his side, he yearns for a higher purpose, craving a meaning for why he was born to rule his dying father's kingdom. His quest for knowledge leads him to stumble across a loner named Ciaren, who claims to be a prince himself, but cast away from his kingdom due to a strange vision. The two quickly feel a deep connection to one another, but Faolan's mother has one strict and absolute rule- the Father Comes First, and Ciaren wants Faolan to help him secure his place as heir to the throne. Faolan is forced to choose between the destiny that he's been raised with and the allure of his first genuine love, and with his father's condition and mental state steadily declining, he doesn't have a lot of time.
