As the world ends, only a select number of young candidates can escape through the Human Population Protection Program's (HPPP) Escape to Mars Project. Each country can select four children, ages 16-20, who will be sent to the small colony on Mars to keep the human race alive even after the world's destruction. Nova and Ivy, two opposites from opposite sides of the world, are somehow paired for their long journey to their new home, and once they're both put in their pod and sent off, there's no turning back, and they'll realize that what their getting into is far more than them.
