Regulus was a soul-stealer. He was born an empty husk and in his foolish minute-old youth, he stole his source of being from the sea and with it gained the ability to manipulate water. Regulus was fantastical and so were every soul-stealer who derived their souls from the material world around them. This made him less than human and a beast to behold and that meant he was a commodity to be bought and sold. Or that's what they'll try to convince him and everyone like him. Regulus doesn't know if his soul was stolen but gods fuck it all if doesn't deserve to exist in safety. Gods forsake everyone if they think they can stop him from journeying on treacherous seas filled to the brim with monsters and pirates with his crew of beasts. He will find the elusive haven island of Lyratide and he will barter and rage and war for the right to exist without fear even if it kills him. But maybe that's just a dream and beast don't dream don't you know?

RELEASE SCHEDULE: This novel is being written for NaNoWriMo so there will be a post every single day of November at/around 1,667 words resulting in this being a 50k piece of work.
