Nightmare's Massacre

I have to write a horror story for English and I could use some help. I think It's going to be a chapter book. Please comment on everything, fix my mistakes, give me ideas, and tell me if this should be an actual book.

Here's what's happened:
Isolabella had wanted to go to a Halloween party being thrown by her crush, but her mom had taken her on a month-long vacation. After some negotiation, she convinced her mom to let her go. When they get to the cabin they're staying in for the month, she explores the house and sees a strange bird, but thinks a trick of the eye. A few weeks later, when she's used to the strange things she encounters, she has a terrifying nightmare about the party. Lucky her, the party was that night. That night, traumatizing things happen leaving her scarred for life.
