Before the construction of the hives, two cities stand amid the growing continent. Wealth and prosperity grew above Fyrerost, leaving only dust and scraps for the underdeveloped Hymeno, and conflicts ensued at every corner of the cities.

Secluded beneath the thriving city, a new powder called "augments" provides Undergrounders with unfathomable power, but at a cost. Tensions boil with the creation of the "mesmer", a way for Queen Wasp to inflict her mind into any HiveWings. Rivalries between the two cities inflict permanent ruins, and Nomada finds himself in the middle of rogue convicts and deadly poison.

When Hare realizes that there's no convincing her friends to keep trying, she turns to another group of dragonets to ask them for help. Flame hates the prophecy. He hates his stupid fate and the stupid NightWing that threw him into this mess. When he finds out the prophecy was fake all along, he's more than happy to give up. He wants nothing more than to go home and see his mother, especially after all that's happened. But Hare manages to be convincing enough, and the last thing he wants is to have to live in fear of losing his mother to the war. Both groups of dragonets have lived their entire lives in a lie, but one will end the war and make Pyrrhia the continent it was before. Spittlebug moved to Pantala to get a breath of fresh air from her busy hive life. She intended to create a farm and sell whatever she grew to the neighbouring kingdoms. Maybe even find a wife and settle down with some dragonets. Until she quite literally bumped into Meltwater. Not wanting to break the dragon's heart, she agrees on a date. Hopefully she wouldn't regret her choice... Meltwater had a hard life. She's repressed a lot of memories of her past, but she knows her and her best friend, Skink, have survived a lot. They kept each other alive while they were out on the streets, neither being wanted by their parents. But now, she was grown, and the two ran a shop together. And she managed to stumble her way into Spittlebug. She'd not the biggest fan of the small dragon, but she does come with free housing, and the HiveWing does seem attached... Will the pair eventually find a romantic spark, or will the relationship go up in flames? And how far along will it go? Well, lets find out... (This story has several drug and alcohol references and one violent scene. Just be advised) (Wings of Fire belongs to the goddess, Tui T. Sutherland, and this is just a fanfiction. Leafspeaker's life is a lonely one. As a hybrid, other dragons often made fun of her, and rarely included her in anything.
