Raven has spent his entire life in the Thieves' Guild. But when he steals a strange dagger and refuses to give it back, he gets caught up in the conflict of an underground cult from his past, a war between two nations, a girl who despises the Guild, and a strange man who seems to come from another world entirely. His journey is filled with blood, darkness, and a strange power that he fears like Death themself.

A while back, I wrote this as my first foray into writing high fantasy (and writing books in general), but abandoned it due to it (and the characters) getting a little too dark, a little too gory, and a little too unlikeable. Now I am on to better things, but I thought I might upload the book here fore some feedback. Tell me what you think! I can't wait to hear the feedback from this cesspool of a website.

My friends are slipping, I'm slipping, everything I've worked so hard to keep normal has gone away completely. I've lost my grip on reality, and I'm being forced into the world of the paranormal. And with every passing minute I'm growing bolder and stronger. I won't go down like this. Who would you die for? ======================================== This is my first EVER book! Jacob is a gang leader while Michael is his third-in-command and Caden is his second-in-command. Jacob had a dark past so he's cold to anyone that's not friends or family. Whenever possible I turn familiar tropes on their heads: instead of a handsome young Lancelot, I cast a broken-down ex-champion addicted to pain-killing herbs; instead of a dashing Squire Brian, the old knight reluctantly takes an ambitious young woman as squire. Similarly, I re-imagine the standard medieval milieu by infusing aspects of two of my favorite historical periods, Elizabethan England, and The American Frontier. Both eras boast a kind of nationalistic arrogance that borders on hubris, and a magnificent spirit of resourcefulness and re-invention that is fun to play with.
