104 years after the events of the OtherMind, all seems peaceful... Except when it's not. For the last 4 years since the last Brightest Night, A war has been raging. A war for power. A war of blood and death.

 But a new academy is flourishing. A new term has started at Molten Stone Academy. NorthStar and Equinox enjoy the Obsidian Winglet with their new Clawmates.

Then, their Winglet is thrown into the middle of the war. It's their job to uncover the secrets of the tropical volcanic island. It's their job to find one thing  in particular. Something, or perhaps Someone who has the key to stopping this war and saving the tribes.

The Toma team takes on a brotherly role with Sang during the mission and gives her advice on how to handle the guys who hurt her. The boys discover the mission information and then they must figure out how to help her without her knowing they've discovered the details of the mission.
