Pinky Promises

Lauren and Cameron have been best friends for years. When Lauren's feelings change she worries about how it will affect the friendship.

"Cameron?" I asked looking up at him.

He kissed my forehead before looking into my eyes and responding. "Yes hun?"

"Well...will you promise me that you won't leave me...? And we won't hate each other like Shelby said." I kept looking at him as tears started to well up in my eyes again. I couldn't take it if we did end up hating each other. He is one of the only people I can trust. I couldn't bear to lose him.

He smiled down at me for a second before looking at me with a serious look in his eyes. I could tell he wasn't about to lie to me. "I promise. With all my heart."

I struggled to get my arms out from where they were squished in the middle of our bodies still embracing. Once I had succeeded I held up my right pinky finger. "Pinky promise?" I asked smirking at him. In our friendship, pinky promises were serious! They can never be broken.

"Pinky promise!" He said smiling and looping our pinkies together.
