So she paints a field of lavenders and any other flowers because she couldn't go there due to her allergies. But Duke changed her, he would find ways to make her feel that there's still hope that she could go there. She could go to the place and feel that there is still hope. Emery Cohen loves to paint. Painting is his heart and soul; it is the very reason he exists. He believes all it takes to change the world is to add a splash of color in all the gray places. He quickly learns nothing is so simple. Emery can hardly keep his grades up. His dad is an alcoholic and his mom died when he was young. He's told he likely won't even make it to graduation. But those are only components of the gray world; something that can't consume him as long as he has a paintbrush and some paints. Living life in color means doing what you want, embracing your talents, maybe even falling in love and giving color to those in need of it. But what happens when you give all the color you have to the rest of the world? And what if the only thing that gives you color--your paintbrush--gets lost in the gray world, too? *** Started: 11/21/16 Finished: 6/21/17
