Kenneth Phelps is the lead priest at the local church and has strict rules for his family.
This leads his son Travis Phelps to hate his whole being. His problems with his father are bad but he gets to escape at school being the one who pushes people around.
Until he meets Sal Fisher or "Sally Face" a boy with a mask whom Travis often fantasizes about despite thinking it's a sin. Due to his love and hate for Sal, he bullies him and his friends.
Sal Fisher or "sally face" moved to the Addison apartments over the summer. He met Larry Johnson his now best friend who introduced him to all his friends.
When school started everything was going smoothly until Travis Phelps the local priest's son started bullying Sal and his friend calling them homos and an array of awful things.
Despite Travis's awful attitude towards Sal and his friends's sal tries to befriend Travis and get to the core of his problems
After they get close sal might help Travis find someone worth loving.

Sally's Face
For as long as he's known "Sally Face," hes has an emotionless white and pink face with the holes of his eyes being the only peak into his humanity. The eerie mask was all Travis saw of the boy for a long time. Getting to know the boy he found out why the prosthetic was worn and how it was not just some gay fashion statement. But even as he got friendly, or more than friendly, with Sal, he didn't see under the medical device until after high school Sal had never shown his face purposely to anyone, most the time it was on accident. With Travis he specifically wanted to show the horror that is what was left of his face. He trusted Travis and wanted to take that step in their relationship. But after he did, nothing changed, whenever he was with Travis he was still covered. Sal hated the way he looked, he barley had his prosthetic off when he was by himself, much less with his friends or family. This fact was one that Travis hated. Travis is determined to help Sal feel more comfortable in his own skin. Feel more confident without his mask, whether it was when he was alone or accompanied by his boyfriend.Complete

Travis grew up knowing a couple things. One of those things was that being gay was a sin, and that if you were gay, or anything like that, you're going to hell. Or at least, that's what he was told. But after an incident with Sal in the boys washroom, Travis starts to think that he might have been wrong the whole time. Just a quick warning, this is a pretty heavy story and contains things like abuse (both verbal and physical), drug use, suicidal thoughts and attempts, slurs and swearing.
