Theodore Heart. He's just your average nerd, glasses he never wears, straight a's on every report card, multiple AP classes. Oh there's a few more things, he's gay, and lives with his older sister. School is school for him, there is no time for relationships.
Anthony Novikov. Imagine the most American a Russian decendant you can, and there he is. Anthony's parents are immigrants from Russia, he's just trying to fit in, and thus he does a lot of things he's not proud of, but in the moment he could care less, like for example his friends want to out the new kid at school: Theodore Heart.

Please forgive any grammatical errors, or plot holes. This is edited-unedited, I wrote this for National Novel Writing Month 2023. Thus there are only like 51,000 words, still a lot but there's still a miraculous amount of rushed bits.

After George accidentally outs himself in front of the popular and homophobic guys of the school everything seems fine at first. Meanwhile, Clay is closeted yet he has known he likes boys for a while now after falling for George. However, he can never seem to find the time to talk to anyone about this as he has to constantly help his sick mum and sister. With the cyber bullying all becoming too much, George becomes extremely overwhelmed, while Clay finds himself taking more and more medication to calm himself every day.
