Heatwave and Quickshadow have just moved to Fort Worth Texas. They got a house with more than one bedroom. It is a good thing to because they are expecting their first baby. Heatwave is a firefighter who now works at a local firehouse. Quickshadow is a pediatric nurse who now works at Cook Children's hospital They are very happy that their baby was going to be born in a few months. However there joy turns to worry when they find out their baby has a severe heart defect. They turn to Cook children's hospital who offers care for their baby. Their son is born and they name him Hot shot. Hot shot has several surgeries his first few years. Hot shot has friends he made at the hospital with similar heart defects. Hot shot at five years old needs a new heart. He is put on the transplant list. This one might be the first one done at Cook Children's. Hot shot finds out his friends need new hearts too. They hope to get new hearts soon. (Humanized)
