Abyss of Embers

Suppose your summer vacation is going on. You got a good book and you're reading it in your room. That book catches your attention because maybe you like thrillers and mystery. Well, tell me, why are you so comfortable reading book like this now? Because you are sitting in your room now. You know you can't be anywhere safer than here. No matter what dangers lurk within the pages of the book, they can't touch you here. The outside world seems distant and disconnected from the thrilling escapades you're immersed in.
But let's say you're reading a manga that claims you're constantly being manipulated. an eerie thought creeps into your mind. Could the apparent peace and tranquility in the world, past Covid-19, be nothing but
a premonition of an impending storm? Perhaps, someday when you finally open your eyes, you'll find yourself standing on the opposite side of safety, entangled in a web of mystery beyond your imagination.
In other words, the words safety and comfort is full of lies and falsehoods. Those thoughts bother me every time.
