Rune Chapman is a spirited woman in her late 20's, capable of many things. She's co-ordinated, respected, kind, and ready to teach and learn. And she's trying to survive.
She's a former captain of the Australian Army.
A renowned scholar in Anthropology.

She is in the 22nd century, living on Pandora as a Xenoanthropologist and Avatar driver hired by the RDA and the UN Xeno-Exploration and Science Committee to document the Na'vi and Pandora as a whole and assist the scientific research team. She is the protégé of Doctor Grace Augustine, and the friend of Jake Sully, Norm Spellman and Trudy Chacon.
She expected to only record data and knowledge for her five years on the planet, write a book and then leave, but instead, she fell in love with what and who she promised she couldn't.
She fell in love with the alien planet of Pandora, with the mystic goddess, Eywa, and she fell in love with her people. She fell in love with a woman who took her heart and healed her soul, and filled her ears with songs of hope and peace. When she never thought she would ever fall in love.
Now, she fights for the survival of the people of the planet, Rune will do anything to prevent the new world becoming like her old world. She will fight against her own species. She will fight with Toruk Makto.
She will fight because that is what a good soldier does, that is what a good person does. They fight for the right thing.
Her soul runs with Eywa and the People, and her heart beats with Pandora.
