Hi, my name's Rose! I'm 15 years old and I have a baby named Jasmine. You may be asking, "You had a kid at 15?!?!" I get that asked a lot and the sad reality is yes, I gave birth to her when I was 15. Let me explain: About a year ago I went to help a classmate of mine with homework since he wasn't good at the subject. The plan was I would stay over at his house in a guest bedroom and tomorrow I would go back home. Simple. Except for the fact that his mom was out of town and his dad was an alcoholic and a rapist. I was 16 years old when I found out that it was possible. I was living in an apartment with my boyfriend at that time. He and I took our high school classes online together. I met him when we were 14, just being dumb and clueless. I didn't know that I'll be his girlfriend at the age of 15 or that I was going to live on my own when I'm 16. The idea of being sent to a 'straight camp' for the entire summer sounded absurd. Nothing about it made the slightest bit of sense to me. And it looked like any other summer camp; a bunch of uncomfortable-looking teenagers standing with one or both of their parents, people I assumed were in charge talking to them. My parents wouldn't let me say anything as they willingly handed over my information to the stranger in a blue shirt. They promised me I would thank them, told me I would be grateful once the summer was over. I never would have thought for a second that they would have been right, but it turns out, this was exactly what not only I needed, but what everyone involved needed.
