With no recollection of the events previous, Vivian finds herself running from a dangerous criminal for what she assumes is her life. Now held captive at the hands of a wicked man named Daxton Arrowood, she must find a way to firstly, survive, and secondly, escape his cruel and unruly family. That being said, she finds her closest door to freedom being provided by the very man who stole it away, Dax.

Being forced into a world of crime by a family legacy, Daxton has one last chance to prove to his father he is capable of taking over the family business. One night, he travels away to carry out his task, only to be interrupted by a fiery red-head. Now with a hostage, Daxton finds his task near impossible, but he doesn't have much choice. It's either him, or her, and if he dies, he knows she will inevitably follow. It's a broken world full of deceit and despair, and Daxton spends most of the journey battling the demons his father instilled in him, while Vivian tries desperately to understand them.
