Marie Stars, a 20 year young adult born in the Kingdom of Violera, heir to the throne and the beloved princesses of the people of Violera, is soon weight down by the responsibility of the Kingdom and people on her hands. The time of the King and Queen of Violera will soon come when they will retire, for this generation of the Kings and Queens are unlike any other human in the Kingdom.

When the Sons and Daughters of the Kings and Queens soon becomes 20, they will be passed down with the most powerful staff ever, the Wandhander. A power staff which cannot be taken down by other mortal humans. But other Kings and Queens of the other Kingdoms can, but unfortunately, they have already made peace with each other...but there's one kingdom,  even though made the agreement, is still not to be trusted.

Marie finds herself holding the most powerful staff ever as she sits on her new throne. Clueless of how to use and command the staff, her parents soon sends her a mentor to teach her how to use it while they go on a vacation for 6 months.

Her friend, Shaera Ivy ,the Princess of the Kingdom of Tarvisium soon to be welding the staff and her other friend, Augustine, helps her to gain her courage to rule the Kingdom. Unfortunately, some disasters strike up when her mentor is unavailable to attend her as he suddenly goes 'sick'. She soon finds someone,
striding through the door claiming that they will help her and teach her how to use this staff.
And that someone, isn't someone to be trusted.

Marie finds herself tangled up with disasters and broken up portals leading them to their disaster. Now she can only rethink back her life decisions when she realized, she messed up, pretty bad.

Ahem, living people die, dying people live, Henry V is here and he's awesome despite being the main antagonist, everybody is vaguely gay, swords are described in loving detail, people are not, lovely platonic friendships, did we mention swords? Yes, you may learn something about history, but that's a risk you'll have to take. Basically, think of this as a Percy Jackson type of adventure, but it's historical fiction instead of Greek gods. The narrator is 15 and the major supporting characters are 14, 17, and 19. That said, there's nothing in the way of content that's inappropriate for a younger reader. As always if you're not here to go on a fun little adventure find a different story. Trigger/Content: very mild language, some magic violence, fantasy violence. Self-harm is briefly discussed. Adoption issues are discussed as well as brief scenes of a abusive family. Characters briefly mention crushes and or dating, no real innuendos.

Fifteen years later, Briar Rose is shocked to learn that the biggest threat to her daily life isn't Dragons swooping down from the sky to eat her or dying from boredom out in the middle of the woods. It's a curse that can lead to her whole countries decimation. Having been born with the Gift for Magic, she was trained to be a Curse Breaker by proclamation of High King Henric himself and now knows that her Godmothers have been preparing her to fight the Curse the Dragon bestowed at that ill-fasted Ball all those years ago. With one year to get the most practical experience possible in Curse Breaking, Briar Rose heads out with the map her Godmothers gave her, tracking down places of extreme curses while they head back to Skyfort, the castle where the cursed spindle resides, to protect it from those who would inadvertently worsen the curse they struggled to amend. Being now a Keeper, and a tracker, one who protects the village, Regina has to keep up with it all.

You fight with honor, you protect the ones you love, and if you just happen to die in the process, than you do so with dignity and grace. What my mother neglected to tell me during my studies was that you don't always get what you want, the outcome you think is coming doesn't always happen, and when the smoke clears, you're always going to be the last one standing. By the end of The Certainty, Georgiana Vertigo is left with nothing more than her life, something many people would be more than happy to have. However, Georgiana is left to her own devices in a strange city, alone and heartbroken with regular intense bouts of depression. In starting a new life with the Guild, Georgiana has everything she needs in order to move on with her life and keep her mind off the past.
