Immediately after their departure from the Pale City, Claire and Leo, now joined by Mono, sailed for five days straight south until they docked upon a mysterious, if not crooked house atop a crooked Cliffside. Taking place in Mono's point of veiw, he tries desperately to save Claire, who had been kidnapped by massive spiders, put up with the antics of Leo, trust the encounter of a mysterious Sixteen year old named Oliver St.James, and survive a cruel tyrannical boy named Mateo who rules over three factions housing different types of children hidden away from the present dangers the house provides while trying to plan a way to save everyone.
