Ramona Castelleno is a Latina high school senior, with a load of issues on her shoulders as prom approaches. Still recovering from the loss of a dear friend, Ramona struggles to understand the laws of high school when it comes to popularity. She and her friend Sophia (Sophie) never seemed to fit in with the popular kids, but when their friend Kaye sells out to the cool crowd, their sense of unity falls apart. With Prom coming up, their plan to go as a group is foiled, and they know if they go they'll have to see her there with her boyfriend, one of the popular guys, and risk being humiliated by her group of snobs. But what is high school without Prom?!
