"Order shall prevail." The year is 2064. Humanity exists in the stars as the United Terran Federation, but they are a minor nation at best; The real powers of the galaxy are ruled by various alien factions, the two largest of which are the technocratic Collective of Civilised Species and the constitutional monarchy of the Istha Union Beneath the polished exterior of the Collective lies a brutal machine. It might be apt to suggest that it's citizens have a choice between obedience and death. In this machine, the Collectives ultimate authority is ensured by the brutal Civilis Protectione, a quasi-thinkpol dedicated to the complete establishment of Collective dominance over the hearts and minds of the citizen population. Life in the Collective varies wildly in quality, though the occupied humans have by far the largest gap; Life in the upper and Middle cities is very good and on par with most of the rest of the Collectives more long term species, however life in the lower city is notably bare bones and life in the slums is comparable to hell. In the lawlessness of the slums, the seeds of resistance are sown and shadows begin to move against their alien overlords, but the biggest challenge lies in the criminal elements within the slums its self. Meanwhile in the stars above, galactic politics begin to turn against the Collective as the Collectives biggest rival, the Istha Union begins to make alliances with the secondary powers of the theocratic Sazkar Nations and the capitalist Domu Conglomerate. Such a formidable galactic alliance threatens the Collectives dominance of the stars and ultimately the dismantling of their state. It seems that once more the board is set and the players are making their first moves. _________________________________________________ Represents a work in progress.
