Her father walked out on her and her mother when she was little. Katherine's best friend Aria is always by her side.  Kat thinks she doesn't need anyone but Aria and her mom in her life... Until she meets Ashton the new kid in school. Ashton has a not so good past and is holding on to a huge secret. They start hanging out and Aria gets jealous. One day Katherine's dad shows up causing Katherine's mom, Mia to turn to alcohol, causing major complications to everybody.
